Citipoint (RN: 731603) was registered as a partnership on the 4th day of December, 1989, and commenced operation in January 1990.
Three of the four founding partners – Adeyinka Patrick Olumide-Fusika, Teslim Soji Adewuyi, and Adeniyi Adeyemi Adewumi – had before then practiced in other leading law firms in Nigeria.
Segun Aderemi joined as an Associate Partner and was followed suit by Bayo Alabidun.
On July 14, 2016, one of the founding partners – Adeniyi Adeyemi Adewumi – died.
In 2017, three erstwhile Associate Partners – Oluwafunmilayo Jimoh, Oloruntomiloba Olagunju, and Francess Usenna Ogie – were elevated and admitted into partnership.

The firm, as currently organized, operates across three practice groups. The Corporate and Commercial Practice Group is the solicitors and legal advisory/consultancy services arm of the firm. The Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group deals with adversarial matters for clients. The Company Secretaries & Nominees Services Group is organised and carried-on in and under the name of Equity Union Limited, a fully-owned operation of the firm.
